Stitch Fix Review & A Giveaway!

I got my first Stitch Fix in the mail last week and I am so excited to share what I got with you! Stitch Fix is basically just a personalized styling service that delivers gorgeous clothing and accessories right to your door! First, you fill out the "in depth" style profile that will help the stylist choose pieces suited perfectly for you. It is super specific down to each detail, colors and fabrics.  If there are certain pieces you are not interested in getting you can say that too!  For example, I didn't want any jewelry or accessories in my box. You can also link an any social media, such as a fashion Pinterest board!
Once you box is all ready to ship you pay a $20 styling fee that can be put towards any pieces that you choose. So fun!  Everything in my box was packaged so perfectly, they really have attention to detail down!
The first item I got was this coral colored sheer top. It had a super fun triangle almost tribal pattern all over as well as studs on the sleeves and around the neckline.  I was so excited to see this in my box, it is something I would have picked out myself!  Unfortunately, it was TINY!  I mean so small I couldn't even get it over my head. So sad but glad I got to see it.
Next was this peter pan collared tank top. It was a very pretty mint color which is perfect for spring, but I did not like this top at all.  I felt like a little girl when I put it on, just not my style. Also, for reference, it was really short on me (I'm 5'6). Almost a midriff top!
This cardigan was my absolute favorite item! I am a cardigan fanatic, I wear them year round so I fell in love with this right away. The color was a navy blue with pearl buttons, but what stole the show was the front. It was a little bit lighter blue but was a sheer fabric with laser cut flowers on it. Gorgeous!  I had never seen anything like this. However, it was crazy expensive. Just not in my budget so it had to go back.
Next I got this adorable lace top.  It was a dusty rose color with cap sleeves and a loser fit. It was way to tight across my chest but I almost kept it so I could wear it with my black maxi skirt! Ah! So cute!
Lastly, was this striped skirt. Way to tight and way too short. Back into the box.

So all in all I ended up sending all 5 pieces back. Nothing really fit me well enough to keep so I ended up losing the $20 styling fee, but thats ok. The stylist did such a great job for the first time, I loved most of the pieces they just didnt fit. I will definatly be ordering from Stitch Fix in the future, right after I update my style profile : ) If you are interested in signing up, here is an invite for ya!
Oh, and another cute thing they do is attach this little informational card showing you different ways to style that item. I love that!

{How We Weekend} A Day at the Lake

Happy Tuesday!  This post is obviously a little behind but I still wanted to share it.  We didn't do a dang thing this weekend, it stormed everyday and we just didn't want to get out in it!  Instead, we got redbox movies, played games, and worked on homework.

A couple weekends ago we were invited to a craw-fish boil on Lake Murray. It was our first time on the lake and the first time I have had craw-fish in years!  We had so much fun playing horseshoes and meeting new people. I think everybody brought a side dish, there was so much food!  It was little cold and drizzly but it didn't dampen our moods on bit, we just grabbed another beer and sang along on the country radio.

Influenster #springvoxbox

I was lucky enough to be chosen to participate in Influensters Spring VoxBox review! I am a recent member of Influenster but have loved it so much I quickly worked my way up to some pretty awesome badges!

"Influenster is a free -to-join community of invited trendsetters who live to give opinions of products and experiences. Influenster creates links between brands and members to reward participation and influence future products."

To be chosen to review a VoxBox you have to fill out surveys and such to make sure you are qualified and if you qualify you are sent a themed box filled with amazing goodies for you to review and keep!

"It's a reward you might get for being a great Influenster. Too vague? OK fine, it's a box filled to the brim with the hottest products that interest you. Paying attention now?
Here's how it works: Influensters are selected for FREE themed product shipments based on the Expert Badges they have unlocked and based on individual demographics. This ensures members receive products that match their interests.
Members with high scores -- within the specific badge we are targeting at the time -- are prioritized, which is all the more reason to get your Influenster and Expert Badge scores high."

This months box was Spring Fever themed, perfect!  I received my box a couple days ago and am so excited to show you what was inside!
First, I got this incredibly delicious TastyKake peanut butter chocolate cake.  DELISH! It didnt last long!
ImPress press on manicure, I have to say that I am not usually an big fan of fake nails but these were just SO convenient!  They are extremely sticky on the back so they have lasted for 3 days so far! I do wish they weren't hot pink but only because hot pink is not my style.

Secret Outlast Gel Deodorant Anti Perspirant, LOVE.  I have always been a big fan of Secret but have only ever used the powder kind. While the gel was a bit of an adjustment, now I love it!  It smells a little bit like hand sanitizer but it doesn't bother me too much.
This was the item I was most excited to see but also, once I used it, the item I liked least.  I wanted to like this SO BAD.  I love the idea of a texturing powder because my hair is in desperate need of lift and texture bit all it did was make my hair feel heavy and dirty.
Lastly was this NYC Glossy Lip Balm. I received the color Big Apple Red.  This gloss is amazing! Smooth with a subtle red color. Easily my favorite product I received.

*I received all of these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster. All opinions are my own.

I am also being featured on Danielles blog Taking Notes Coast to Coast, you should go check it out!

{DIY} Yarn Storage

So I have this problem, a yarn problem.  I have piles of yarn that I have bought and only used parts of for other projects and now they are just piling up. I wanted some type of storage that I could DIY and would fit with the vintage y theme of my spare bedroom/craft room.  I loved this one but couldn't for the life of me find a galvanized tub!
I had this Santa popcorn tin still hanging around from Christmas that was desperate for a makeover. It also happened to be the perfect yarn hiding size. Annnd I had chalkboard paint. Perfect.
I ended up painting 3 coats just to make sure everything was covered evenly. I let the paint dry about 45 minutes between each coat. After the 3rd coat dried I "cured" the paint. Cover the entire tub with chalk, if you don't everything you write on the tub will stick and leave an imprint.
All done!  So cute and versatile!
